CAR BOMB IN KANO

A suspected car bomb has exploded in the northern Nigerian city of Kano, witnesses have told the AFP news agency.

The blast ripped through a busy road filled with bars in the predominantly Christian area of Sabon Gari, locals said.
The explosion could be heard several miles away, they added.
Police spokesman Musa Majiya said it was too soon to say if there were any casualties.
